Question

How To Really Celebrate Christmas

Five Ways To Celebrate Christmas:

I. Have The Mind Of Christ - L Matt 19: 13,14

A. Stay close to Jesus.

1) Pray to Him.

2) Read the Bible.

3) Expect His coming.

B. Direct others to Jesus.

1) Have your family in the Church.

2) Invite unchurched friends.

3) Discuss the real Christmas story.

II. Reach Out To Others.

Philippians 2:5-8

                                 “this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

A. Be a giver.

B. Be an encourager

III. Get Beyond Your Past.

Philippians 3:13

                                  “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”

A. Don’t let failure hold you back.

B.   Don’t let accomplishments stop you.

IV. Emphasize The True Meaning Of Christmas.

Isaiah 9:6

                    “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us, a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Think: Christmas is not about exchanging a lot of things you can’t afford for a lot of things you don’t want.

V. Emphasize The True Meaning Of Christmas.

                    “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us, a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Romans 6:23

                           “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
