Fact: There should be no prejudices or biases among those who are one in Christ.

John 17:21

that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

Three Main Points:

I.  God Breaks Down Cornelius’ Prejudices. - L v. 1-8

II.  God Breaks Down Peter’s Prejudices. - L v. 9-23  Read Acts 10:21-23

III.  The Lessons Learned In Dealing  With Prejudices. -  L v. 23-33

A) The preparation by Peter. -  L v. 23; Acts 10:45; Acts 11:12; 11: 1-3

B) The preparation by Cornelius. – L v.24; Acts  10:6

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Lesson:  

Don’t keep God’s message to yourself; invite others to hear the truth as well.

C) God humbled both Cornelius and Peter. - L v. 25-27 

1. Cornelius fell down at Peter’s feet.

2. Peter demonstrated humility. – L  v. 26,27

Matthew 8:2

And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

Matthew 20:20

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.

D) Peter learned a great lesson. - L v. 28, 29 

1. He learned all people are important.- L v. 28

Matthew 5:45

that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

2. Peter wanted to help Cornelius. - L v. 29

Lesson: God has abolished the distinction between Jews and Gentiles.

E) Cornelius learned some lessons. – L v. 30

1. He learned prayers seeking God moves God. - L v. 30-32

2. He learned obeying God brings results. - v. 32, 33

Question:  Cornelius prayed, fasted, gave alms and treated the Jews with respect,                           why did he need to hear what Peter had to say?

Answer:  Because good works does not secure one’s salvation.

3. He learned God had a plan for man.

F) Cornelius turned the meeting over to Peter. - L v. 33

Conclusion:

 Five Points Of Interest

1) It’s good to have witnessed with you in ministry. - L v. 23

2) Don’t keep God’s truth to yourself. - L v. 24

3)  Always know your position in Christ. - L v.  25, 26

4)  If you diligently seek God in prayer, He will meet your need. - L v. 30-33

5) Listen to those whom God sends you. - L v. 33
