Why Should Christians Share Christ

Acts 11:1-18

Audio to come!

Question: Why won’t you share Christ?

Is there a fear within you?

Three Main Points

I. The Church’s Vision Was Narrow - L v. - 1-3

A) The Jewish Christians heard about Peter’s mission. - L v.  1

B)  The Jewish Christians confounded Peter. -  L v. 2,3

“Salvation” = faith in Christ + nothing.

C) The Jewish Christians thought that a man should be circumcised. - L v. 3

II. Peter Explains That Christianity Is For All. - L v. 4-17

A) God tells Peter that Gentiles are not unclean. - L v. 4-10

Fact:  Salvation through Christ was for all nations.

Genesis 12:3

“I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Genesis 18:18

since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Malachi 1:11

For from the rising of the sun, even to it's going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; in every place, incense shall be offered to my name, And a pure offering; For My name shall be great among the nations," Says the Lord of hosts.

“The Great Sheet”  represents ALL Christians.

B) Three messengers made Peter’s vision Clear. - L v. 11,12

C) Cornelius told Peter God’s Angel’s message. - L v. 13, 14; L Acts 10:22

Romans 10:17

So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

D) Peter spoke and God’s Spirit did the rest. - L v. 5-17; L John 6:44

Q: Why must we be born spiritually?

A: L (John 4:24) - Only born again believers can worship God.

Lesson: Just like God commanded Peter to go to the Gentiles,

God commands us to shape the gospel with the lost.

II. Peter Explains That Christianity Is For All. - L v. 4-17

A) Peter spoke with conviction. - L v. 17

B) The Jewish Christians were convicted. -L v. 18

Four Points Of Interest

1) If you live for Christ, you will have critics. - L v. 1-3

2) Unless you are witnessing to a friend, have someone go with you when sharing the gospel. - L v. 12

3) Peter took a  risk when going to these Gentiles and God blessed - L v. 16,17

4) Praise God for everyone who is saved - L v. 18

Q: Are you ready to share Christ?

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
