Question: Why did Antioch receive the Gospel?
Answer: God used Saul’s mistakes to move Christians out of Jerusalem.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Four Main Points For Today’s Message:
I. The Church Was Born In Antioch. - L v. 19-21
A) Laymen were preaching Christ. - L v. 19
B) They spoke the Gospel to the Jews first. - L v. 19
C) Others spoke the Gospel to Gentiles. - L v. 20
“Hellenist” represents Greek-speaking people.
D) The Lord saved many. - L v. 21
Q: Why did these Jewish Christians speak to others about Jesus Christ?
A: They had the same desires as Jesus.
I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.
II. The Church Received Good Teaching. - L v. 22-24
A) The Jerusalem Church sent help. - L v. 22
B) Barnabas was a great help. - L v. 23,24
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
III. The Church Needed More Help. - L v. 25,26
A) Barnabas sought a great teacher.-L v. 25; L Philippians 3:3-8
B) Saul came to Antioch. -L v. 26
As you, therefore, have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
I John 2:6
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
IV. The Antioch Church Shared By Giving. - L v. 27-30
A) Agabus gave a prophecy. - L v. 27,28
B) Believers gave money to help. - L v. 29,30; -L Malachi 3:8-11

1) Persecution spreads the gospel. - L v. 19
2) Sharing Jesus brings results. - L v. 20, 21
3) New Christians need Godly teachers. - L v. 22,24-26
4) Christians should help faithful believers. - L v. 28,29
