Question: Where is your heart?

                        “Koinonia” is a Greek word for fellowship.

Seven Reasons God Wants Us To Be Generous:

I. Generosity Creates Fellowship.

II. Generosity Defeats Materialism.

III. Generosity Strengthens My Faith.

IV. Generosity is an Investment for Eternity.

V. Generosity blesses you in return.

Deuteronomy 15:10

“Give generously…and do so without a grudging heart.  Men, because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”

Question: Why should we feel sorry for stingy people?

Answer: They don’t really trust God.

VI. Generosity produces happiness.

Acts 20:35

Jesus said, “It’s more blessed to give than to receive.”

1) God is working even when you don‘t see it.

Psalm 121:4

“Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

2) You can be an answer to someone’s prayer.

VII. Generosity makes me more like God.

Psalm 121:4

“Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

John 1:16

“And of His fullness, we have all received, and grace for grace.”

Fact: The word “give” appears 2,162 times in the Bible.

I Chronicles 29:14 (LB)

“Everything we have comes from You Lord and we can only give You what is already Yours.”

Job 1:21

Job said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

~ How to Practice Generosity.

Question: How do you want to give?

Answer: It should start with your heart. - L- II Corinthians 8:12; L- II Corinthians 9:7

1) Give thoughtfully.

Colossians 3:23

“And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men.”

Four Attitudes Needed in Giving:

2) Give enthusiastically.

3) Give voluntarily.

4) God loves a cheerful giver. – L- John 15:11


Question:  What should “communion” mean to us?

Answer:  It’s a fellowship among believers to remember the generosity of Jesus Christ - L-I Corinthians 11:23-26

“Bread” represents Jesus’ body.

“Wine” represents Jesus’ blood shed for us. Read II Corinthians 8:9

Acts 15:11

“But we believe through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved…”
