General Office Secretary
Having been a Church Secretary at 4 different churches in the USA, and 1 English Speaking church in Jakarta, Indonesia over a period of more than 40 years, I was excited to answer God’s call (via Donna Nauman) to interview at Charity Baptist just two and one-half years ago after moving to NWA from Indiana. My husband, Ben, and I “retired” from living in Southeast Asia for 20 years, in 2003, and moved several times trying to find where God wanted us. We finally settled in Indianapolis where I was Administrative Assistant at a Southern Baptist Church. We came to see that that was where we should be for the time and circumstances. We felt called to move out of that very wintery area in 2011. When we moved to NWA in 2011, we finally felt we were exactly where God wanted us, and how true that turned out to be. My Ben, unfortunately, was attacked with a fast progressing type of Dementia causing him to have to be in a healthcare facility with his monthly income having to go for payment of the facility. With my monthly income suddenly cut to more than half, I was daily praying for God’s direction in what I was to do. Then Donna called asking if I’d be interested in being a Church Secretary, and it’s needless to say I was ecstatic. I went in for an interview and came to work here the next day, November 2, 2015. Words cannot explain how humbled I was, a senior, Senior Citizen, at age 78, to be hired as Secretary at Charity! I have found so much joy at Charity Baptist, and the Staff and church members here have been so supportive that the Peace of God I was seeking after Ben’s Home-going in 2016, has been found here in my office as I try to serve my boss, the whole staff, and all the wonderful church members. I’m so blessed and thankful! God is so good all the time. All the time God is so good!
